Metro MRI Center Receives ACR Accreditation   Apr 1, 2008
Metro MRI Center Limited Partnership, Moline, Illinois has been awarded a three year term of accreditation in MRI as a result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The American College of Radiology is a national organization serving more than 30,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists, and medical physicists, with programs focusing on the practice of radiology and the delivery of comprehensive health services. The ACR Committee on MRI Accreditation evaluates and accredits MRI practices in hospitals and in Private offices across the United States. The ACR awards accreditation to an MRI practice for the achievement of high practice standards after a voluntary evaluation of its practice. Evaluations are conducted by radiologists and physicists who are members of the ACR with special expertise in MRI. They assess the quality of work being performed as well as the qualifications of the personnel involved. The reviewers report their findings to the ACR's MRI Accreditation Committee which subsequently provides the practice with a comprehensive report. MRI is an advanced medical diagnostics imaging tool this is specially suited for head, spine, joints, certain blood vessels. Metro MRI Center adds a new Open Bore MRI   May 7, 2007
Metro MRI Center has added a new Open Bore high-field MRI to its array of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners. The extra-large Open Bore accommodates patients of all sizes. Due to its short design, many exams can be done with the patient’s head outside of the system. The Espree Open delivers high-field quality images, while providing comfort to larger and claustrophobic patients. Quality, accuracy and comfort will satisfy the patient and the physician.

Patients benefit from fast, safe, simple breast biopsy   Jul 20, 2006
July 20, 2006 Metro MRI Center is the only Quad City area provider offering a non-surgical breast biopsy option that means less time with procedures, less pain and trauma and the ability for patients to resume their daily activities immediately following the procedure. The breast biopsy and excision system, is an automated tissue excision and collection system compatible with MRI. The system provides a minimally invasive procedure which is much easier than an open surgical biopsy. An MR-guided breast biopsy is performed when abnormalities of the breast are not seen with routine mammography or ultrasound, and detected only with MR Mammography. This minimally invasive approach will yield high quality results to ensure the most accurate diagnosis possible, typically only taking minutes to complete.
